"Hear the beep where you sleep" is the theme for this year's Fire Prevention Week, set for October 4-10. Residents are encouraged to install working smoke alarms in every sleeping room and every floor level.  Everyone should be checking their smoke detectors to make sure the batteries are changed and they are in good working order.  With the colder weather, heaters are being turned on.  This is the time of year that everyone is staying indoors more and trying to stay warm.  Keep debris, toys or anything that can burn away from heaters.  If you need, to have someone check your heaters and your pipes to make sure they are in good shape for this Fall and Winter season.
